Homeless Nation 2018
This BSP film featured four men who are homeless, who volunteered to give insight about being homeless, to give back to those who have helped them and to help others who may become homeless. Included in the film were advocates who work with people who are homeless or about to be homeless. The Dubuque Rescue Mission and staff contributed their role of working with people who are currently homeless, Todd Lang, an advocate for homelessness, gave an inspiring perspective of his insight. Mary B. Deutsch represented the Dubuque Community School District about children and families that may be in our school system. Dr. Rev. Jade Angelica offered a heartfelt and compassionate view of what it is like to be homeless and some important insight on how to cope and address this social dilemma.
This BSP film was supported by Josh Jaseer of Resources Unite, Reverend Rick Mihm of The Mission, Gwen Kirchoff of St. Johns Church - homeless division, Adam Green of Hillcrest homeless department, and Jessica Bliele of United Way homeless division. The University of Dubuque Theology Seminary was ever so gracious to provide the energy and compassion to sponsor Homeless Nation at their Heritage Center theater. Many sincere thank you's to Dr. Rev. McCaw and Ms. Emily Blue from the University of Dubuque Theology and the many local community organizations who displayed their helpful contact information before and after the film and the many others who made it possible to show this educational and informational film to the public.
